What kinds of hardships did your family have to go through?

  1. The hardships that my family had to go through were things like learning english, and adapting to the american culture, which they are still doing now.

  2. My parents had to carry only a few possessions and move through two different countries (first Japan and here), and then find a way for me to be educated in America.

  3. My mother came to America with my two sisters and her x-rays. At the time, there were not that many immigrants and somehow there was a rumor to bring your x-rays. She did not have that much money and was staying with in-laws in Riverside. She had to work two jobs (three at one point) in order to save up money to get an apartment. She didn't know how to drive so she never had to worry about gas.
