I am Chines who was born in Indonesia. but I do not think that I am Chinese because being born in another country. I am not even able to speak chinese. But I sometimes do what Chinese usually do
I Chinese-Indonesian-Dutch. I can speak fluent Indonesian, unfortunately, I was born in the country that against Chinese people so I am not allowed to use Mandarin in public. I speak Mandarin inside the house only so I did not have a chance to learn how to read and write in Chinese character. But, its never to late to learn a new thing... I can understand Spanish, Taiwanese, and a little Japanese :)
I am not of Asian race but I have always been interested in Asian cultures; Japanese, Korean, Filipino, etc. I love their music, fashion tastes, food, and even the language. You can always learn something new from other cultures and in every culture one thing always seem to interest you. I do prefer the Korean and Japanese culture over other ones but other cultures always have something new to offer and learn about.

ReplyDeleteWell, You gotta pick one as a dominant over the other. Usually the one that your parents use at home would be your dominant culture
ReplyDeleteI'm viet/french and I feel that I'm more leaning toward asian. Growing up I never met the french part of my family, so that never really influenced me
