Should people be deported???

If you were involved in policy-making in the Department of immigration, What program would you design to help those undocumented immigrant?

  1. I am completely against people being deported. I know people may have come here illegally from other countries, but many have been in the United States for many years and established a lifestyle, and for us to go in and take that away is something I find unacceptable.
To help undocumented immigrants I would allow an easier way for these people to become citizens. The only way I know that people could become citizens would either be to enroll into school and get a visa card, and then apply for a green card and finally citizenship, but I've heard that is a long and tedious process. Another way would be through marrying an American boy or girl, so they can become a citizen through that method, but that often leaves to a loveless marriage and a series of tensing questions.
I would pass a bill to allow a certain quota of undocumented immigrants a chance to apply for a green card so they could at least work legally and then individually they could go through citizenship. We should also ban the new law instilled in Arizona which allows police to check anyone's papers at any time in an attempt to stop immigration.
American was founded on the idea that it was a land of opportunities for the people by the people, so to bar people from entering the United States is thought to be unconstitutional.

  2. Undocumented immigrants should not necessarily be deported but there should be easier ways for immigrants to be able to come to America. Ways that can be helpful to provide mean for immigrants to come would be to lower regulations that our government places on these immigrants. People deserve the right to have happiness and work hard to strive for this goal.

  3. Thanks for your thoughts. I also fell the same way. I think people deserve to be happy and as long as they don't harm others.

  4. If they contribute to society they shouldn't.

  5. While I agree with all the comments above and, especially after reading the story about the illegal Filipino journalist immigrant in America, my question is also, "If we allow everyone/anyone to stay, how do we control our resources/jobs/etc?" I wish it were as easy as just allowing all the people who enter in illegally to stay, but at the same time, I think that there are a lot of other factors to consider. One being the amount of work that exists and how that would suffer if we just decided to open all doors to all immigrants. If we're already struggling to find jobs right now, how much harder would it get if all of a sudden, anyone could come and stay in the US and were willing to do jobs at a lower price?

Just a thought! But yes, I do wish that there was an easier way for illegal immigrants to get citizenship.

  6. Even though some people may be illegal immigrants, I believe they should be allowed a chance to live in our society if they contribute to it. America is a melting pot of many cultures but some countries are less fortunate (many times financially) to be able to come into the country so we should try to give them that opportunity if they are showing positive contribution and results in this country rather than just deporting them without thinking about it.

  7. I would like to say I do not want the people to be deported. America is a land where people come to build their dream and start a new life . Well for most at least. No one (who lives in the US) can say that their family didn't immigrant at one point or another. This land was found first by the Native Americans. So in a sense we all immigranted here and I feel that we should not stop others from coming unless they are trouble (ex. terrorist).

  8. I apologize as some people might not like my post but i think that some people should be deported. Coming from an economics background, our country will not be able to sustain the massive growth problem that illegal immigration brings upon us. Although I know that people come to the US for a better life, I would rather have my future children have a better life than the illegal immigrants. I do not believe in them taking our jobs or anything like that, but instead feel that the population is increasing at an alarming rate while the budget for the government seems to decrease every year.
