I think the more people migrated from one country to another, they start to adapt a new culture and tradition. Despite for those family whom want their next generation to keep their own culture and tradition.
Sometimes, assimilation is not that good at all. I think assimilation could be the reason why asians are dealing with cultural invisibility. For instance, if a person is over assimilated, they tend to forget their native culture like most young adults this days.
Assimilation will affect our culture and traditions deeply. Assimilation causes cultural lost, also traditions. Preservation will keep our own culture and traditions, but we just stay in our own area.
When you move to a new country its hard not to want to adapt to their culture and traditions, you want to fit in with what everyone else is doing. But in doing so you are losing out on your own culture and traditions, its important to have some of your culture's own traditions still in your life so you have something to share with friends and family. We sometimes tend to cut ourselves off from our cultures in order to be part of the cool and hip new thing.
