I don't think there's any real evidence to show that there are more homosexuals in the Philippines that to other countries, but to try and add depth to the question, within the last twenty years or so, the gay movement has slowly started gaining rights and strength. There is an undeclared organization known as the Gay Organization for Liberty and Dignity which speaks to those open and closeted about being happy and comfortable in your own skin. They also tend to mix with heterosexual men rather than exclude themselves from the community which may also be a reason why it seems more common in the Philippines.
Well, I think in Philippines, people more open-minded than people in other countries. For example, in many families, culture, tradition, as well as religion, homosexuality is considered taboo and a sin.
it's easier for people to come out of the closet because society is more accepting of it.
I disagree with this question stating that homosexuality is more common in the Philippines than other country. I grew up in the Philippines and most homosexuals there are those feminine types. Philippines is not the most open minded country when it comes to homosexuality either. Most Filipinos in the Philippines tend to make fun and degrade gays in the Philippines, so Philippines would be the hardest place to come out if you were gay. Both culturally and religiously, Filipinos are very conservative when it come to homosexuality.
